The executive management team has a strong track record of delivering substantial value from intellectual property developed within academic and research institutions.


Jussi Westegren – Executive Chairman.

Jussi is a theoretical physicist who began his academic career at McGill University, Montreal before moving to the University of Helsinki and more recently, the University of Oxford. His enduring scientific interests lie in the fields of simulation of complex systems, distributed computing and molecular physics. Jussi also has considerable experience at building successful early stage companies including Lateral Logic, G-Cluster & Capacity Networks


Dr Andy Naylor – CEO.

Andy was previously Vice President of Physical Sciences at IP Group plc, a company he helped to grow from start-up to a listed market capitalization of over £300m. Andy’s role at IP Group included identifying valuable intellectual property (IP) within universities, and establishing, building and financing spin-out companies based on that IP. Andy holds a PhD in physics.


John Davies – Executive Director.

John read law at University of Oxford, before completing an MA at McGill University. He then qualified as an accountant (ACA) and became FD of IndexIT Partnership, the technology advisory boutique which was sold for £36m. John went onto become CFO of IP Group plc and helped form strategic partnerships with UK universities and create over 40 spin-out companies (8 are now listed).


Jari Strandman – Executive, Finland.
Jari is returning from England to Finland to oversee Pembroke House Technologies’ Finnish operations. He was instrumental in setting up and developing several companies in the UK, including Oxray in 2006 which was acquired by Oxeco (AIM: OXE) in 2007. Jari has held corporate technology management positions at large manufacturing companies, Partek Oy and Sisu Oy and in Finland, and was a founding director of Capacity Networks. Jari has significant experience at managing academic collaborations and operating at the interface between the public and private research sectors. During his time at Sisu and Partek he chaired the board of a Tekes Technology Programme (“Rapid”), in which over €25m was invested in engineering technologies in Finland. He has also held management positions at Finn-Aqua and Tekes in the USA.

Hilary Broadhurst – PA.
Hilary joined the team in October 2007. Prior to this, she spent over 8 years working for senior partners at one of the top life sciences venture capital firms, Abingworth Management Ltd. Hilary brings a wealth of PA experience and knowledge.
